Tears for Fears will be on stage at Wembley Stadium on 25, 27 and 28 August 2027 as special guests of Harry Styles on the three London dates of his Together, Together tour. Roland Orzabal has also said the band plan their own tour running from June to August 2027, but no headline dates or venues have been announced yet. This page will be updated the moment they are.
Forty years after Songs from the Big Chair, Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith remain one of Britain's most enduring bands. 'Everybody Wants to Rule the World', 'Shout', 'Mad World' and 'Sowing the Seeds of Love' are among the best-known British songs of the 1980s, and their 2022 comeback album The Tipping Point returned them to the top of the charts.
Below: the confirmed 2027 appearances, a guide to Wembley, the band's documented UK concert history, their albums, the songs they play most and the latest news.
The only confirmed UK dates for 2027 are the three Wembley Stadium concerts with Harry Styles: Wednesday 25 August, Friday 27 August and Saturday 28 August 2027. Tickets for those shows are sold as Harry Styles tickets through the official Wembley outlets.
In September 2026 Roland Orzabal said that Tears for Fears plan a 2027 tour from June to August, and that the band recorded nine new songs in the first half of 2026, which they intend to revisit in November. A deluxe edition of The Seeds of Love, with new stereo and Dolby Atmos mixes by Steven Wilson, is due on 16 October 2026.
Until headline dates are confirmed, we do not list any: use the alert button and we will email you as soon as Tears for Fears announce their own UK shows.
The rebuilt Wembley Stadium opened in 2007 and holds up to 90,000, the largest capacity in the UK. Wembley Park (Jubilee and Metropolitan lines) and Wembley Stadium station (Chiltern Railways) are both within walking distance.
Wednesday 25 August 2027 — Wembley Stadium, London (special guests of Harry Styles). 3 nights are booked at Wembley Stadium; this is number 1. Their most recent documented London show was at O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire on 4 July 2022. This is the opening night of the run. This venue closes the tour.
Tears for Fears first toured Britain in the early 1980s in support of The Hurting, and the success of Songs from the Big Chair took them into the big arenas in 1985. The Seeds of Love tour of 1989–90 followed, before the original partnership broke up in 1991. Orzabal continued under the band name for two albums, and the duo reunited in the early 2000s.
Since the reunion, their UK touring has been steady rather than constant. In June and July 2019 they played a series of outdoor summer shows — Delamere Forest, Blenheim Palace, Canterbury, York Racecourse, Chester-le-Street's Riverside Ground and Colchester Castle Park — under the Rule the World banner. The Tipping Point tour of 2022 brought them back to Telford, Longleat, London's Shepherd's Bush Empire, Waddesdon Manor, Newcastle and Floors Castle in Kelso, and in September 2023 they returned for further dates including Leicester's Victoria Park.
The table lists documented UK shows, with the oldest going back to their 1985 tour. Shows that were not documented by the sources used are not included.
The table below lists 93 documented UK concerts by Tears for Fears between 1985 and 2023, with the most shows in London (25), Birmingham (10), Manchester (7), Newcastle upon Tyne (3), Nottingham (3), Glasgow (3). It is not exhaustive: it only includes documented shows.

Across the 15 most recent documented UK concerts with a full song list (21 June 2019 to 16 September 2023), these are the songs that came up most often. Titles only — set lists change from night to night.
Tears for Fears' recent UK summers have been built around outdoor shows at stately homes, castles, forests and racecourses — Blenheim Palace, Delamere Forest and York Racecourse in 2019; Longleat, Waddesdon Manor and Floors Castle in 2022 — rather than the big multi-stage festivals.
Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith met as teenagers in Bath and played together in the mod band Graduate before forming Tears for Fears in 1981. The name comes from the primal therapy of the American psychologist Arthur Janov, whose ideas run through their early songs.
Their debut album The Hurting (1983) reached number one in the UK, with 'Mad World', 'Change' and 'Pale Shelter' all reaching the top five. Songs from the Big Chair (1985) made them international stars: 'Everybody Wants to Rule the World' and 'Shout' both went to number one in the US, and the album reached number one there and number two in the UK. 'Head over Heels' was another major hit.
The Seeds of Love (1989), a lavish, Beatles-influenced record made over several years, gave them another UK number-one album, with the title track and 'Woman in Chains', featuring Oleta Adams. Smith left in 1991; Orzabal released Elemental (1993) and Raoul and the Kings of Spain (1995) under the band name. The pair reunited for Everybody Loves a Happy Ending (2004).
After years of touring the hits, they released The Tipping Point in February 2022, an album shaped by the death of Orzabal's wife Caroline in 2017; it reached the top five in the UK and was widely acclaimed. Songs for a Nervous Planet (2024) combined a live recording with new studio songs. Gary Jules's 2001 cover of 'Mad World', which became the UK Christmas number one in 2003, introduced their songwriting to a new generation.
| Album | Year | UK chart peak |
|---|---|---|
| The Hurting | 1983 | 1 |
| Songs from the Big Chair | 1985 | 2 |
| The Seeds of Love | 1989 | 1 |
| Elemental | 1993 | 5 |
| Raoul and the Kings of Spain | 1995 | 41 |
| Everybody Loves a Happy Ending | 2004 | 45 |
| The Tipping Point | 2022 | 2 |
The Seeds of Love was famously expensive and slow to make: the band spent years in the studio working with session musicians and searching for a sound that moved beyond the synthesisers of their first two albums. The result was their most ambitious record, and the deluxe reissue in October 2026, with new mixes by Steven Wilson, is likely to bring songs from it back into their live set.
Oleta Adams, whom the band discovered singing in a hotel bar in Kansas City, sang on 'Woman in Chains' and went on to her own solo success with their help.
Supporting Harry Styles at Wembley puts Tears for Fears in front of a young audience that may know 'Everybody Wants to Rule the World' from streaming, film and television more than from 1985. Their songs have been sampled, covered and used in soundtracks for decades, and the stadium slot is a natural extension of that.
For long-standing fans, the Wembley dates are the only confirmed chance to see them in the UK in 2027 so far — but Orzabal's comments suggest headline dates will follow in the summer.
Recent Tears for Fears sets have been built around the classics — 'Everybody Wants to Rule the World', 'Shout', 'Mad World', 'Sowing the Seeds of Love', 'Head over Heels', 'Pale Shelter', 'Woman in Chains' — plus songs from The Tipping Point, including the title track and 'Break the Man'. As a support act at Wembley their set will be shorter than a headline show.
Wembley Stadium has seated stands and a standing pitch; arrive in time for the support set, as stadium audiences are still filling up during the early part of the evening.
Tickets for the Wembley shows are Harry Styles tickets, sold through the official Wembley and Ticketmaster outlets. For Tears for Fears' own 2027 tour, nothing is on sale because no dates have been announced.
